Discussions| funny & touching drama/comedy | | This movie is awesome! I laughed out loud, almost cried and talked to the screen a little...got mad at the lady next to me for talking to the screen a little too much (but I didn't tell her anything!) and basically enjoyed this movie so much that I know I am going to buy it on DVD when it comes out.
I am considering going to see it again but I want to drag my sisters along...they need this! It's so funny and it tackles some very real issues with a realism that is very refreshing. The dialog is very smart and there are very hilarious moments when the action gets going.I think this may be Tyler Perry's best movie yet. I have seen "Diary of a Mad Black Woman" and "Madea's Family Reunion" which I thought were very good movies...but I think "Why Did I Get Married?" trumps them both with its excellent cast and screenplay! Based on this, I have to get a hold of "Daddy's Little Girls" so I can compare it! Perry is a genius. Very brilliant! I hope he gets an Oscar nod for this as a writer or whatever. There is no Madea in the movie, Perry plays a "regular" guy and he plays the role very well. I was really impressed with all the actors, especially Jill Scott. I think this movie is...

as for a male artist... in the present day and time I would have to say Dwele... He could sing to me anytime of the day or night... his words and his voice... sends my soul flying...

| | Tyler Perry News | | I'm sure all of us Tyler Perry fans know that he is working on a new TV show, "House of Payne" that will be on TBS beginning this summer.
But I just found out he's making a movie of his play "Why did I get married?" I love this play! Even without Madea, LOL.
I can't wait to see it! The cast includes: Michael Jai White, Malik Yoba, Janet Jackson, Tyler Perry and Jill Scott among others. It sounds like it's going to be great! There's no info on it about his website http://www.tylerperry.com not yet, anyway. I found out because I joined his mailing list.
I'm excited about both of these projects. I just wonder if the man ever takes a break, LOL.
